This class is geared towards handlers starting out with young dogs/puppies, who wish to learn how to teach their dog fundamentals that will be needed for future CKC PreNovice/Novice Competitive Obedience &/or Rally Novice Obedience Classes.

These are short sets of classes as handler will need to do their homework. Some helpful equipment is on-site and students may book extra practice time through instructor, if required. 
 
The class will not have any rally course set-ups nor obedience run-throughs. The classes are intended to break down obedience and rally requirements into fun, easy, teachable moments for dog and handler. 
 
Examples of Beginner 'Fun'damental Foundation Work:
*focus on handler
*rewarding dog
*beginner heeling fun
*halt/sit in heel
*front from heel position
*front to heel position (left & right)
*change of positions (sit/stand/down)
*stays - sit & down
*moving around dog in stationery positions
 
NOTE: Classes are held at a secondary SKOC location, 13.5km east of city, north of Highway #5. Location/map will be provided to handlers before first class.
 
Instructor Shelly Campbell is an experienced CKC Obedience and Rally Obedience trainer/competitor. She has trained & titled five dogs to Obedience Trial Champions with two dogs earning their Master Obedience Championships and multiple High In Trials. Her current female is over halfway to Grand Master Obedience Trial and finished 2024 as #5 CKC All-Breed Top Obedience Dog in Canada. She has also trialed dogs to top titles in Rally, most recently the new Rally Grand Champion Title and handled her dog to a 2021 #6 CKC All-Breed Top Rally Dog in Canada acquiring multiple High Aggregate and High Combined Awards along the way.
